Great start to a great series! I love the mystery at first and a new take on magic is always something fun to read about.

Characters:

Characters are big for me in this book Ive grown rather attached to them, I love reading about our main character Vhalla I think shes strong but growing into who she is. She feels real to me and I really like that, she will be a big reason why I stick around reading. I like Aldrik to our mystery prince he intrigues me and I want to know more about him and who he his.

World Building:

I think is pretty good, I wasnt left wondering about anything, I was definelty more focused on the characters, But would be interesting to see in the next few books how this expands or not maybe some back history on how the war started and what they are fighting for / fought for a bit more

Over all this is a great read and Im loving this series I couldnt put it down until it was done!
