This story was refreshingly fresh, it was magical from start to end I loved it all. A must read!
General Comments
I have so much to say about this book, I was a bit skeptical at the start but the cover and the idea of a magical Inn that thinks for it self made my mind up for me. I read this book non stop and finished it in several hours. The whole idea was really cool and something I've definitely never read before, there were werewolves and vampires but they were only a small part of the story. The main story revolves around Dina Demille and her Inn. There were parts where things were spoken of, like it was common knowledge but you wouldn't really know what it meant. But the way it was added into conversation it just worked and I was never bother with it. I just loved this story it had me so excited wondering what the Inn could do next.
Characters
The main characters I would have to say are Dina Demille and her Inn, I just love their relationship how the Inn is an extension of her self and the way they interact and have each others back I know it sounds kinda weird but it was a definite highlight for me. I loved seeing what the Inn could do and how bad ass Dina was inside it, I love her story and her emotions are easily felt I really liked her character she isn't some simpering idiot who lets hot guys rule her thoughts, she has goals and a back bone and I love it. There is a slight romance but nothing that really is on the forefront of the story its left open ended for further exploration for the next book, I really liked that.
World Building
the world building is SO COOL, I mean a magical Inn that can create rooms however Dina wishes, other planets and demensions as well as learning about vampire factions and werewolves and how each society is held, traveling portals through doors to merchant relems, it kept me hooked. As much as strange words and places were explained it felt as if everything that you were told or was spoken about made sense. As well as many other creatures that I've never heard before, I also loved the random pictures throughout the story it helped along with some of the visualization it was just an added bonus.
Over all I really recommend this book, Ive already read the second in the series and Im really hoping there will be a third in the future, thank you for the great read Ilona Andrews!
