Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

Passenger is a great read and a great adventure! I thoroughly enjoyed it, everyone should pick up a copy definitely a top book of 2016!

General Comments:

I loved this book, I think it can be really tricky to do a time travel book without mucking it up, but this was understandable and clear. As much as I really liked it I wanted a bit more from it, more emotion maybe? I'm not sure. I loved the adventure and the mystery and the deadline Etta has, I need more!! very excited for the second book to come out!

Characters:

Etta!! I love her, I think she is a very strong women shes not all hot headed charging into a situation and she isn't meek either. She knows when to play the game or fall in line I should say and then act as her own person and I liked that. I love when we get a smart main character one that can be relate-able or you know just a normal person. I liked the love interest too and I liked that it wasn't overwhelming or became the whole story, it was just there along the way and I thought that was nice. Overall I think all the characters were very individual and had their own personalities. We had some diversity brought in and I thought that was nice to see.

World Building:

The world building and the explanation for the time traveling was really cool, the places she explained felt like the author had gone to these places as well, It made me feel like I was there too. Sometimes I didn't really feel the time of the era they were in as much, It didn't feel like that was a larger focus more just the location. More because I think we were living in the moment with the characters so it didn't feel like a different time? if that makes sense, I mean obviously there were some differences or noticeable time differences especially in the beginning but for me I would like to see more of that. ( I'm not sure if this would be a spoiler but I'm putting it after this just in case?) I think its also because they bounced from time to time very quickly to really get a grasp on the locations era.

Overall I enjoyed this book and I think that a majority of people will, I know Alexandra is working hard to get the second book out and I cant wait for it!
