My Soul Immortal by Jen Printy

3.5 Stars ★★★

This book is about Jack and his immortality, over 100 years have passed and he's still holding on to his lost love Lydia. moving around a lot is what Jack does he can't stay in one place too long before people would start to question his young appearance.

Moving to Portland Maine is when the story really gets going running into a women named Leah, Jack is shocked to be staring into his lost loves face and eyes. As well as being the only immortal he knows,he runs into someone who may or may not be immortal himself and after 100 years of not knowing anything about his kind brings about a lot of craziness to Jacks life.

General Comments

My Soul Immortal had a very interesting premise that I had hoped would grab me and pull me in but it failed to fully do so. Don't get me wrong it was beautifully written but it just didn't get a pull to deeper connection with the characters and their emotions didn't resonate with me. The story has promise and I know others would definitely like this book but I just couldn't get over lack of connection.

Characters

The characters I struggled to connect with at least with jack I didn't like his inner monologues very much. For me its the characters that really drive the story for me and since I couldn't feel the emotions they were supposedly feeling it felt very dulled down.

The ending was very interesting to me it felt like it was starting to pick up the new characters introduced have the power to be very captivating and the author has the ability to show the readers a really amazing underground world of immortality, as long as the characters emotions are powerful and can make the reader feel it will be a very interesting read.

Overall great story idea people love to read about immortality and its different aspects and unrequited love and fated love, I would say give it a chance it may be for you. The next book definitely has the chance to become more so I will keep an eye out for it.

This book was given to me by the author for an honest review.
