Okay Im going to be honest I haven't finished this book yet but I'm not sure I will- at least right away. Im not sure if it was because I already knew the story about Wonderland that I just wasn't as into it. Anyways, it's a new take on Alice in Wonderland but instead its years later and its her younger brother Henry who ends up in Wonderland.

ah okay so I think this story had a good idea and it was cute, fun and had good morals. It also had cute little metaphors about life and stuff. Its a new take on Wonderland where the Mad Hatter goes and meets Henry Alice’s younger brother. And we see over the course of the book ( that I read and skipped ahead on) that they go from frustrating acquaintances (at least on Henrys part - Mad Hatter didn’t seem as bothered ) to friends to more then friends. I think its great to read a story that portrays a boy falling for another boy and showing readers thats just how it is, theres no questioning about it being wrong or figuring out ones self or anything like that. It is what it is and I think the author did really well with just showing a love story. I got bored though. I get that they had to travel through wonderland and there was some crazy stuff that happens and different sections but Mad hatter was so blasé about it that it didn’t get deep enough into the world for me that I just got bored.Characters
So over all I just found the story kinda dull and I think it has to do with Henry. I found him to be so stubborn and rude at least at the start that I just couldn’t stand him. He put down his sister so much because he never believed in her Wonderland stories. And for some reason a giant talking Caterpillar, Enormous flowers and being shrunk and thrown into an ant hill didn’t make him believe he was in Wonderland like accept and move on already!I loved the Mad Hatters perspectives though I found him charming and funny and I liked his attitude. I liked reading his perspective because I like the way he thought, but I think it also dulled the wonder and the depth from Wonderland and seeing it from new eyes. While Hatter brushed stuff off like it was normal or cautioned Henry about things and clearly Henry was shocked or confused or some other emotion we didn’t feel it with him because we were seeing it through Hatters eyes.
Overall I would give this 2.5 Stars,It wasn’t like it was a bad story just not for me. I really wanted to like it but it just couldn’t get me hooked enough to continue.
I received this copy from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
