2/ 2.5 Stars ★★★
Alright well I was excited to get into this book but it fell pretty flat for me. I don’t like not liking a book but this one just didn’t do it for me I think it started off on a good note it just went somewhere I wasn’t interested in.
The only really good thing about this book was the world building, it drew me in and I wanted to know more it made you really visualize this place like you were walking along with the character. I liked the authors explanation of Hell and how everything worked.
At first you believe the main character lela is this kickass brave hero but I found the romance got in the way of her trying to save her best friend the one who means so much to her. She goes to save her bff with the intention and bravery to do whatever it takes and its admirable. and your rooting for her but then I found the romance to get in the way of that. And Malichi was just unrealistically perfect it was like he was there to do whatever lela needed even if it wasn’t good for him in the end. He wasn’t a character that could stand on his own two feet.
So I guess over all you know I’m not the biggest fan of this book and I so wanted to. I just couldn’t get past some things. So id say 2/ 2.5 stars
