Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini

I love this book!! I think this book is so underrated I thought it was an amazing start to a series. We start off with a girl named Lily Proctor living as normal life she can with her crazy severe allergies. Attempting to go to a high school party with her long time best friend and crush ends embarrassingly. Suddenly lily is pulled away to a new Salem and this is where the story gets good, Lily meets her twin self who just happens to be Head Witch of this new Salem.

General Comments 

I think this book was amazing, I loved the contrasts of the different Salem's, we get to see characters live "normal" reality and then suddenly the scene changes to a modern medieval Salem. I would recommend this book its got a bit of everything, romance, Friendship, survival, war, politics, science and magic it all blends together into a really great story. I see where some other reviews are coming from and I get why they starred it low because I see where they saw issues in the story, but I felt like I somehow read the story differently. Im not sure if that makes sense or sounds weird but I read it anyways because the story intrigued me and I was glad I went for it. I think you need to make up your own mind if this story is for you it seems like it could be a hit or miss for some people.

Characters

I loved the characters and I have my favourites, I see some of their flaws but I loved the story so much it didn't really matter to me that much.

World Building

The world building was excellent, I loved it it was detailed and interested and had me hooked I wanted to know every detail, it was definitely like we were brought to an alternate universe. It felt whole in and I wasn't really left questioning how things worked.

Overall I think you wouldn't regret reading this book definitely worth the read.
